Work-placement forms for second-year students

Nothing like work-placement forms to ease the Thanksgiving digestion.

I'll be visiting the major classes on Tuesday, Oct. 11 to hold a half-hour work-placement orientation. 

Work Placement 1 will take place during the first three weeks of semester 4 (Tuesday, Jan. 3 to Friday, Jan. 20) and Work Placement 2 will take place during the last three weeks of semester 4 (Monday, April 9 to Friday, April 27 – but note that the Monday is Easter Monday – which means some placements may start on the following day).

Hand in your completed application form and a resume to my hand-in basket in W302 by Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 9 a.m. Missing this deadline – or either of these pieces - for any reason means that you are not eligible for a work placement. Best bet: hand them in early in case you get sick or something goes wrong.

The bus arrives at the college at 6:30 a.m. on Monday, May 2, and leaves at 7 am. sharp.

CreComm students going on the Chicago trip:

Please provide the following information to Melanie or Kenton by this Friday, April 8 at noon:

1. Name (first, last)
2. Birthdate (month, day, year)
3. Country of citizenship
4. Photocopy of border ID – either a valid (not expired!) passport or enhanced license from MPI. Photocopy the part with your photo/number.
5. Signed waiver. 

You can hand this in to our shelves on the third floor or by email (but you’ll need to scan in or take a clear digital photo of your documentation to do it).

No border ID by this date means that you won’t be able to go along on the trip.

Update yer blogs now, update often

We will be culling the dead blogs on the right side of this page; so update yer blog now and update often!

Any blog that hasn't been updated for four weeks will be automatically deleted from the blog roll on the right of the page.

Avoid the social ostracism and negative impact on this semester's grade - update today!

• We have a space in a room for one more female student
• We have room for four more "people" on the trip (or one room) - four guys or girls.

No form, a late form, or a form without a resume means you've elected to not be placed this cycle.

Dormant blogs get axed at midnight Sunday

Just a reminder to second-year students:

At midnight tonight, we'll be deleting any second-year students' blogs that have been dormant for two months or longer - you can see where your blog is at on the blogroll on the right of this page.

In many of the majors, a regularly updated blog is a requirement to pass.

If you have a new blog that isn't reflected on the blogroll, please email the link to Melanie or I, and we'll add it to the list.

Memo to second-year students: update yer blogs!

Bring out your dead blogs!

We're going to be doing a little housecleaning on this site on Monday, Sept. 20. On that day, we'll delete any blogs from the second-year students' blog roll that haven't been updated in the last two months.

If your blog happens to be hanging out in the lower reaches of the blog roll, and you intend to keep it active, please update it before that day. If your blog gets deleted, and you then update it, please email Melanie or I (Kenton here!) with an active link.

Note: in some majors, a weekly blog post is necessary in order to pass!
