Job opportunity: Capital Campaign Manager/Administrator, Immaculate Heart of Mary School

1 year term with annual review for renewal

Position Description

Reporting to the Campaign Chair, the Capital Campaign Administrator will play a key role in the management and administration of the Capital Campaign for Immaculate Heart of Mary School, a K to 8 Ukrainian Catholic School in Winnipeg. The incumbent will assist in the design and execution of a $15 million capital campaign including:

• major gifts

• direct mail

• corporate giving and foundations

• planned giving

• event planning

• donor recognition

• stewardship and volunteer management

A flexible work schedule is required as some evening and weekend work may be necessary during peak periods.


Qualifications

Highly motivated individual is required to have a proven track record of success in designing comprehensive development programs and successfully soliciting gifts from a variety of sources with an emphasis on major gifts. Capital campaign and/or other campaign experience is preferred.

Superior organizational, verbal and writing skills are necessary. Evidence of ability to take initiative is required and experience with a volunteer board is an asset.


Responsibilities and duties:

Responsible for working with the Campaign Chair and Board Committee for all aspects of fund raising including major gifts, direct mail, corporations and foundations, special events and planned giving. Develop, execute and manage all aspects of the development program including prospect identification, research, cultivation, solicitation, follow up and stewardship.

1. Campaign Administration:

a) Builds and maintains close working relationship with Campaign Chair, administration and volunteers

b) Creates, manages and maintains documentation related to donor meetings and requests

c) Develops and implements business processes related to campaign information management

d) Prepares campaign documents including correspondence, proposals, briefing notes, minutes, memorandums and other Campaign materials

e) Develops strategy to build and maintain momentum during the campaign

f) Develops communications strategy (using paid and leveraged media) to support campaign goals

g) Develops print, online and social media-based marketing materials and manages annual appeals.

2. Donor Stewardship

a) Manages, plans, develops, implements and evaluates stewardship plans for an assigned group of major donors

b) Establishes and maintains relationship with donors including arranging visits, announcements, information exchanges.

c) Assists with the creation of gift agreements

d) Develops and implements business processes to ensure IHMS fulfills recognition and stewardship obligations as defined in gift agreements

e) Develops and maintains an inventory of acknowledgement letters and manages their delivery

f) Works with Board Committee to develop and manage Alumni data base

3. Event Management

a) In co-operation with school administration, plans, organizes, and presents donor recognition events, cheque presentations, public meetings, news conferences and other events as part of the campaign.

4. Additional Duties:

a) Handles the daily support functions of a capital campaign including the responding to phone calls, supporting and co-ordinating campaign volunteers

b) Related duties as required to support operations.



Requirements/Qualifications:

Fluency in Ukrainian an asset

Education

• Minimum completion of a two-year diploma program with a preferred emphasis on Public Relations, Marketing, and/or Communications or equivalent experience.

Experience

• Experience in event planning and implementation.

• Experience working with and coordinating volunteers and/or staff is considered an asset.

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and direct experience using a database and developing presentations using PowerPoint.
