MTS Allstream student summer intern position

Summer term position: Community Relations Student Opportunity

Job Summary:
MTS Corporate Communications is looking for high-performing students to contribute to projects and events related to our community investment plans this summer. The position will be responsible for supporting a variety of community relations functions such as assisting in the following major sponsorship programs:

- Manitoba Homecoming 2010
- Mike Weir Miracle Golf Drive for Kids
- the CN Canadian Women’s Open
- the province-wide community festivals program
- the company’s United Way fundraising campaign

In addition, the student intern will be coordinating and executing sponsorship provisions and benefits for the above and other community relations commitments:

- providing event coordination assistance
- providing communications support for employee volunteerism initiatives
- assisting with employee engagement activities, such as contests related to the company’s community support

Qualifications:

Formal education in Communications, Public Relations or a related discipline

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Significant attention to detail with the ability to multi-task

Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and to manage time effectively

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Employment Term:

June to end of August, negotiable

Salary:

Remuneration will be dependent on qualifications and experience.
